Scaffolding Supervisor – Job Description
A scaffolding supervisor oversees the entire lifecycle of scaffolding operations-erection, modification , inspection , and dismantling-to ensure safety , compliance with regulations (e,g, , OSHA ) , and structural integrity. Key duties include directing teams , conducting risk assessments , issuing safety tags, and coordinating with other departments to maintain site safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision & Operations : overseeing the assembly and disassembly of scaffolding to ensure it meets design specifications.
- Safety Compliance & Inspections : Conducting daily , weekly , or post – incident inspection and ensuring proper PPE usage , tagging structures ( green \ red) as safe or unsafe
- Planning & Risk Assessment : Developing , reviewing , and implementing scaffolding work plans and risk assessments.
- Team Management & Training : Training new workers on proper technique , safety protocols , and leading the team to resolve site issues quickly.
- Communication & Documentation : Maintaining detailed records of inspections and acting as a liaison between workers , clients, and management. Scaffold supervisor are critical for maintaining a secure working platform , particularly in hight-risk environments involving heights or complex structures.
